The Governing Board is the strategic leader of the school and has a vital role to play in making sure every child receives the best possible education.
We currently have two vacancies on our Governing Board at Woburn Lower School. One for a co-opted governor, ideally with health & safety experience, and one for a parent governor. For the co-opted governor vacancy, we would love someone to join us from the local community. You would be expected to attend six meetings per year with visits to the school once a term for both roles.
Being a school governor is a voluntary commitment but can prove to be a very rewarding experience. As a co-opted governor, you do not need to have links with the school but an interest in giving something back to the community.
In line with statutory requirements, all school governor appointments will be subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
