Phonics and Reading
The ability to read is fundamental to pupil’s development as independent learners. At Woburn Lower School we are committed to teaching children to become fluent and confident readers who are motivated to read for pleasure and exploration.
In this section you will find details of interactive phonics resources that you may wish to explore with your children. Our phonics and reading progression maps show how phonics and reading teaching progresses throughout the school. We also have information about phonics schemes that we are using, and phonics at Woburn school will show you video recordings of how to pronounce the various sounds.
